(Eleocharis dulcis), commonly known as Singhara, is an aquatic crop cultivated mainly in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving water bodies. It grows well in tropical and subtropical climates with warm temperatures and shallow, muddy soil. The plant produces edible, starchy corms (tubers) that develop under water at the base of the plant.
